  • 1764 raised as 18th Battalion at Mooshedabad by Captain Thomas Goddard
  • 1764 ranked as 17th Battalion
  • 1765 posted to the 1st Brigade
  • 1775 renumbered the 7th Battalion of Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1781 became the 7th Battalion of Bombay Native Infantry
  • 1784 became the 7th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1796 became the 1st Battalion 7th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1824 became the 13th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1857 mutinied at Lucknow 30 May

In 1861 after the mutiny the title was given to the Shekhawati Battalion which became 13th (Shekhawati Regiment) Bengal Native Infantry.
