'''Major General Sir Henry Tombs VC KCB (1825–1874)''' was a soldier of the [[East India Company]] who was born in Calcuttaand joined the Bengal Artillery in 1841. He served in the Gwalior Campaign 1843, the [[1st Sikh War|Sutlej Campaign]] 1845-46 and the [[2nd Sikh War|Punjab Campaign]]. He commanded a troop of horse artillery during the [[Indian Mutiny]] and won the VC at the [[Siege of Delhi]]
