3. Mike Pearce - yes I also would like to be involved, particularly in respect of East Indian Railway (E.I.R.) My interest involves the Howrah Carriage & Wagon works established by Robert Webb Pearce in 1855. The Locomotive constuction was moved to Jamalpur in the early 1860's (ref. Helen's interest above). C&W continued at Howrah until 1900 when it moved to Liluah. | |||
4. Fiona: My husband's grandfather gave advice to the Noakhali Railway in 1901 and received a cigar case from them. He neveer went to India so the advice must have been given in London. He was an Edinburgh Solicitor, who was involved in other Railway projects and the Forth Bridge. I would ne interested to now how this present came about. The website does not tell much. | |||
5. LindsayMorris. My Grandfather was an Engineer on the SIR in the 1920's to 1947. I have wonderful pictures of the workshops at Trichinpoloy, where my father was born. His name was Frank Sidney Morris. Is anyone interested in them! | |||
