In 1921 there was an amalgamation of the
- 33rd Queen Victoria's Own Light Cavalry or 33rd Cavalry, and
- 34th Prince Albert Victor's Own Poona Horse or 34th Cavalry
to form the 33rd/34th Cavalry
In 1922 this was renamed the 17th Queen Victoria's Own Poona Horse
