The '''Santahar-Kaunia Loop Railway'''was a metre gauge([[Rail_gauge_#Metre_Gauge|MG]]) line that was completed in 1905 becoming part of the [[Eastern Bengal Railway]](EBR) network.
Formerly The section from [[Santahar]] to [[Bonapara]], a distance of 51 miles(82km) opened in 1899-1900 and originally part of the [[Brahmaputra-Sultanpur Railway]], amalgamated with being worked by [[Eastern Bengal Railway]](EBR(qv). On 1st April 1904, 1904 and Phulchari Branchthe Government of India(qv[[Government of India |GoI]])took over the enterprise and the line became the first part of the EBR's '''Santahar-Kaunia Loop Railway''' when the system was extended from [[Bonapara]] to [[Kaunia]] in 1905<ref>Indian Railway Raj Safari 1a - Keith Scholey</ref> == References ==<references />
