Chronology
- 1846 raised as the 27th Regiment of Bombay Native Infantry
- 1857 mutinied at Kolapore (Kolhapur) in August
- 1858 disbanded
The mutiny was put down with great severity by Maj- Gen Sir George Le Grand Jacob.
In 1871 after the mutiny the title was taken by the 1st Baluch Regiment later to become the 127th Baluch Light Infantry
