  • 1765 formed as the 2nd Bengal European Regiment in HEIC service by division of The Bengal European Regiment
  • 1783 renamed the 2nd Bengal European Battalion
  • 1796 renamed the 2nd Bengal European Regiment
  • 1803 absorbed by The Marine Battalion
  • 1822 re-formed as 2nd Bengal European Regiment with volunteers from 1st Regiment
  • 1830 absorbed by 1st Regiment
  • 1839 re-formed as 2nd Bengal (European) Light Infantry from a nucleus of 1st Bengal (European) Regiment
  • 1850 renamed the 2nd Bengal (European) Fusiliers
  • 1859 renamed the 2nd Bengal Fusiliers
  • 1862 renamed the 104th Regiment of Foot (Bengal Fusiliers)
  • 1881 merged with the 101st Regiment of Foot and became 2nd Battalion The Royal Munster Fusiliers
  • 1922 disbanded on the formation of the Irish Free State
