- 1839 raised as 2nd Bombay (European) Regiment
- 1844 renamed 2nd Bombay (European) Fusiliers
- 1858 taken into the British Army
- 1862 renamed 106th Regiment of Foot (Bombay Light Infantry)
- 1881 merged with the 68th (Durham) Regiment of Foot (Light Infantry) to form The Durham Light Infantry
