- 1858 became 1st Bengal Military Police Battalion
- 1861 became Bengal Military Police Battalion
- 1864 became 45th (Rattray's Sikh) Bengal Native Infantry
- 1885 became 45th (Rattray's Sikh) Bengal Infantry
- 1901 became 45th (Rattray's) Sikh Infantry
- 1922 became 3rd/11th Sikh Regiment
- 1947 allocated to India on Partition
