  • 1824 became 43rd Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1842 became 43rd Bengal Native (Light) Infantry
  • 1861 became 6th Bengal Native (Light) Infantry
  • 1897 became 6th Jat Bengal (Light) Infantry
  • 1901 became 6th Jat Light Infantry
  • 1903 became 58th Vaughan's Rifles (Frontier Force)
  • 1922 became 1st Royal Battalionn (LI) 9th Jats
  • 1947 allocated to India on partition
