Chronology
- 1797 raised as 13th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry following 1796 reorganisation when previous 13th became 2nd Btn 1st Regt
- 1824 2nd Battalion became 27th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry under Major C H Baines
- 1857 disbanded
In 1861, after the mutiny, the title was given to the 19th Regiment of Punjab Infantry which later became the 27th Regiment of Punjab Infantry.
