- 1806 disbanded and reformed
- 1807 became 2nd Battalion, 24th Regiment of Madras Native Infantry
- 1818 became 2nd Battalion, 1st Regiment of Madras Native Infantry
- 1824 became 17th Regiment of Madras Native Infantry
- 1885 became 17th Regiment of Madras Infantry
