Chronology
- 1766 formed as 14th Battalion of Coast Sepoys
- 1767 became The Amboor Battalion
- 1769 became the 11th Carnatic Battalion
- 1770 became the 10th Carnatic Battalion
- 1784 became the 10th Madras Battalion
- 1796 became 1st Battalion, 10th Regiment of Madras Native Infantry
- 1824 became the 10th Regiment of Madras Native Infantry
- 1885 became the 10th Regiment of Madras Infantry
- 1890 amalgamated with The Kubo Military Police Battalion to form 1st Regiment of Burma Infantry
