Chronology
- 1798 raised as 1st Btn 15th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry following 1796 reorganisation when previous 15th became 2nd Btn 12th Regt
- 1824 1st Battalion became 30th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry under Major H F G Cooper
- 1857 mutinied at Nusseerabad 28 May
