Sadras is a fortress town located on the Coromandel Coast 70 km south of Madras, in Chingleput District. The Dutch built the fort, which came under contol of the British in 1796 until 1818, when the Dutch again took contol. It beame British in 1825 following the Anglo-Dutch Treaty of 1824.
