- 1857 raised as 11th Regiment of Punjab Infantry from loyal elements of the 1st Sikh Infantry and 3rd Punjab Police Battalions
- 1861 became 22nd Bengal Native Infantry
- 1864 became 22nd (Punjab) Bengal Native Infantry
- 1885 became 22nd (Punjab) Bengal Infantry
- 1901 became 22nd Punjab Infantry
- 1903 became 22nd Punjabis
- 1922 became 3rd/14th Punjab Regiment
- 1947 allocated to Pakistan on Partition
