The Bengal Central Railway (BCR) was an un-guaranteed company formed in 1881 to build and operate a broad gauge railway from Bongaon via Jessore to Khulna.
Characteristics
The BCR opened between 1882 and 1884. It was merged with the Eastern Bengal State Railway in 1904.

The following is held in the India Office Records at the British Library but has not been included in the index, Z/L/AG/46.
