Mîrzâ Muhammad Sirâj-ud-Daulah (1733-1757) was Nawab of Bengal, Bihar and Orissa. He resented the increasing power of the British in Bengal and attempted to drive them out by capturing Calcutta. He was defeated at the Battle of Plassey following which he was captured by Mir jafar's troops and executed.
