- 1851 retitled as the 4th Regiment of Infantry, Punjab Irregular Force
- 1865 retitled as the 4th Regiment of Infantry, Punjab Frontier Force
- 1903 became 57th Wilde's Rifles (Frontier Force)
- 1922 became 4th Battalion 13th Frontier Force Rifles
- 1945 became 4th Battalion The Frontier Force Rifles
- 1947 allocated to Pakistan on partition
- 1957 amalgamated with The Pathan Regiment and the Frontier Force Regiment to form the new Frontier Force Regiment (10th Battalion)
