Chronology

• 1777 raised as the Marine Battalion
• 1818 became the 1st (Marine) Battalion, 11th Regiment of Bombay Native Infantry
• 1824 became the 21st (Marine) Regiment of Bombay Native Infantry
• 1885 became the 21st Regiment of Bombay Infantry (The Marine Battalion)
• 1901 became the 21st Bombay Infantry (The Marine Battalion)
• 1903 became 121st Pioneers
• 1922 became 10th (Marine)/2nd Bombay Pioneers
• 1929 became The Corps of Bombay Pioneers
• 1933 disbanded

Note: there is record of the 21st Regiment of Bombay Native Infantry raised in 1820 which mutinied in Karachi in 1857. It is said that the Marine Battalion took over the title after the Mutiny but this does not agree with the chronology above.
