The Military Historical Society
Website, a new version from November 2011
The website advises that the Military Historical Society was founded in 1948 for the advancement of the education of the public by the promotion of the study of the history of the uniformed services of the Crown, of uniforms, weapons, and all aspects of military history, and the dissemination of knowledge relating to such matters. Members include collectors of militaria ranging from badges through medals to postcards, and regimental, military and family historians.
The previous website advised the Society publishes a quarterly, fully illustrated journal, The Bulletin, which contains a wide range of military research, articles and provides book reviews and a forum for members' questions. (At 5 February 2012 this wording does not appear in the new website) The Society also produces "Special Publications"
The British Library has holdings of The Bulletin - Military Historical Society from Volume 3 no. 9 (Aug. 1952). There was a minor change of title in 1993 to The Bulletin of the Military Historical Society.
