• 1796 became 1st Battalion, 9th Madras Native Infantry
• 1824 became 9th Madras Native Infantry
• 1885 became 9th Madras Infantry
• 1903 became 69th Punjab Regiment
• 1922 became 2nd/2nd Punjab Regiment
• 1947 allocated to India on Partition
