1798 formed as 16th Regiment of Bengal Infantry
1845 became 16th Bengal Native Infantry
1857 disarmed at Meean Meer. Regiment of Lucknow formed from loyal elements of the 13th, 48th and 71st Bengal Native Infantry
1861 became 16th Bengal Native Infantry
1864 became 16th (The Lucknow) Bengal Native Infantry
1885 became 16th (The Lucknow) Bengal Infantry
1897 became 16th (The Lucknow) Rajput Bengal Infantry
1901 became 16th Rajput Infantry (The Lucknow Regiment)
1922 became 10th (Training) Battalion 7th Rajput Regiment
1947 allocated to India on Partition and renamed the Rajput Regiment
