1854 became the 4th Cavalry, Hyderabad Contingent
1890 became the 4th Lancers, Hyderabad Contingent
1903 became the 30th Lancers (Gordon's Horse)
1921 amalgamated with the 26th King George's Own Light Cavalry, to form 26th/30th King George's Own Light Cavalry
1922 became the 8th King George's Own Light Cavalry
1937 became the 8th King George V's Own Light Cavalry
1947 allocated to India on Partition becoming 8th Light Cavalry
