Bermo, Shanngeti Colliery Railway
The 'Shanngeti Colliery' at Bermo, 35 km north-east of Bokaro, and situated within East Bokaro Coal Field, covering an area of 208 sq km, was developed first to supply the railways. The main source of coal, even to the present time, is the 21-23m thick Kargali seam [1].
The record shows that a 2ft/610mm narrow gauge(NG) locomotive, dating from 1923 was working at this colliery [2].
