Maniyachi was a junction station on the South Indian Railway metre gauge (MG) 'Madras-Tuticorin Mainline' between Madura and Tuticorin. The Tinnevelly Branch Line ran from Maniyachi westward to Tinnevelly with its onward Tinnevelly-Quilon Railway line to the coast at Quilon
