• 1825 formed as 2nd Extra Battalion, Bengal Native Infantry
• 1828 became 70th Bengal Native Infantry
• 1861 became 11th Bengal Native Infantry
• 1885 became 11th Bengal Infantry
• 1897 became 11th (Rajput) Bengal Infantry
• 1901 became 11th Rajput Infantry
• 1922 became 5th Battalion 7th Rajput Regiment
• 1947 allocated to India on Partition and renamed the Rajput Regiment
