26th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
Chronology
- 1797 raised as 26th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
- 1857 mutinied at Mean Meer 1 May. Massacred at Ajnala 1 August.
In 1861, after the mutiny, the title was given to the 18th Regiment of Punjab Infantry which later became the 26th Regiment of Punjab Infantry.
