Chronology

  • 1757 raised in Calcutta by Captain James Morgan
  • 1764 ranked as 11th Battalion of Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1765 posted to the 1st Brigade
  • 1775 renumbered the 10th Battalion of Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1781 became the 4th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1784 mutinied and was broken up
