- 1887 raised as Darrang Mounted Infantry on 3rd June[1]
- 1889 renamed the Darrang Mounted Rifles on 15th February[1]
- 1891 amalgamated on 6th November with several other corps to become the Assam Valley Mounted Rifles[2]
