== Synopsis ==
General Nott's army was encamped and forage for horses was being collected. When when a rumour started that grasscutters had been attacked, Capt Delamain, [[33rd Queen Victoria's Own Light Cavalry|3rd Bombay Light Cavalry]], took off with a party of cavalry. The rumour proved false but Delamain was abushed by Afghan infantry and cavalry. He suffered casualties and was forced to retreat in confusion.
