==Regimental Journal==
''The Thistle, Journal of the Royal Scots'' was first published in 1890<ref>[http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scottish_military/message/3466 Scottish Military History Forum post] by Gordon Angus Mackinlay dated May 14, 2007</ref>. A second series appears to have been published from 1904 to at least 1937, and a third series from 1946.

The [[British Library]] has recent editions of this journal in its catalogue, but does not advise when the holding commences. The [[National Army Museum]], London has the following editions in its catalogue 1894-95; 1895; 1896; 1898; 1900; 19 volumes 1908-1930; 1932-34; January and April 1937. The National Library of Scotland holds “New ser. v. 1, no. 1 (Mar. 1904)-v. 1, no. 12 (Feb. 1905) ; 3rd new ser. v. 1, no. 1 (Jan., 1946)-“. The Royal Scots Museum may possibly hold copies, although there is no mention of this on its website.
