  • 1799 raised as 38th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
  • 1857 mutinied at Delhi 11 May

In 1887 the Agra Levy adopted the name as 38th (Dogra) Regiment of Bengal Infantry later becoming the 38th Regiment of Dogra Infantry
