== Summary ==
When Napoleon landed in Egypt, the British decided to eliminate Mysore, the French ally in India. They laid siege to and finally stormed [[Seringapatam]]. Tipoo [[Tipu Sultan ]] was killed, more territory was ceded to the British and Mysore became a [[Princely states|princely state]] of British India.
