The Fourth Anglo-Mysore War (1798-99) was between Tipu Sultan ruler of the Kingdom of Mysore and the Madras Presidency of the British East India Company.
When Napoleon landed in Egypt the British decided to eliminate Mysore, the French ally in India. They laid siege to and finally stormed Seringapatam. Tipoo Sultan was killed, more territory was ceded to the British and Mysore became a princely state of British India.  == Bombay Army ==Lt- Gen James Stuart commanding*Detachment of *Detachment of Engineers<br>Right Brigade*1st Btn 2nd Bombay Native Infantry*1st Btn 4th Bombay Native Infantry*3rd Bombay Native Infantry<br>Centre Brigade*75th Regiment of Foot*HEIC European Regiment of Foot*77th Regiment of Foot<br>Left Brigade
