'Arthur Koppel & Co' were first recorded selling railway equipment in India in trade directories in 1896 when their offices were at 31/1 Dalhousie Square, [[Calcutta]]. By 1906 they had moved to I Mission Row, Calcutta. From 1907 they regularly advertised in trade journals as being able to supply all types of light railway materials and that their equipment was in use in mills,mines,irigation works, contractors work, forests, brick fields and factories <ref name =WB97>“Industrial Railways and Locomotives of India and South Asia” compiled by Simon Darvill.
