== Synopsis ==
With the encouragement of Yar Mahomed in Herat Aktar Khan threw off his professed allegiance to [[Shah Shuja -ul-Mulk |Shah Shuja]] and threatened the garrison at Gereshk. Captain Woodburn was sent to deal with the rebellion and defeated 6,000 Durrani tribesmen outside the fortress.
