The 'Fort Gloster Industries Ltd', a [[Jute Growing|Jute Mill]] at Bauria, [[Howrah]] District was established by '[[Macallister & Co]]' in 1873; it was taken over by '[[Kettlewell, Bullen & Co]]' in 1879. The records indicate that the mill was connected by a 3 mile(5km) south bound branch, of unknown gauge, to the [[East Indian Railway]](EIR) between Bauria and Chengail stations <ref name =WB42/>.
