Amend description
An '''Bengal Presidency''' was an adminsitrative subdivision of [[British India]]established in 1765. The Bengal Presidency covered the north and east of India and East [[Bengal]] (now called [[Bangladesh]]). It was divided into [[West Bengal]] and [[Eastern Bengal and Assam in 1905. In 1912 there was a further re-organisation into Bengal, Bihar & Orissa and [[Assam]]. Bengal became a province in 1935.
