The '''Bhopal-Itarsi Railway''' comprised two sections: one - *The longer sectionwas an Indian States Railway, shorter than the other[[Bhopal State Railway]], opened 1884.*The shorter section was classified as a State Railway while and opened in 1885.  Together they formed the second was an [[Bhopal-Itarsi Railway]] linking [[Bhopal]] and [[Itarsi]]. Initially worked by Indian Midland Railway(IMR) and amalgamated into [[Great Indian States Peninsula Railway|GIPR]](GIPR) in 1900.
