In 1888 "Captain Francis Carandini, who is in the 8th King’s Royal Irish Hussars has been appointed adjutant of the Behar Light Horse with the rank of major. The appointment is one much sought after, the Behar Light Horse being composed of gentlemen planters all splendidly mounted.
