The '''Bowringpet-Chikballapur Railway''' was a 2ft 6in/762mm narrow gauge([[Rail_gauge#Narrow_Gauge|NG]]) railway built and worked by the [[Mysore State Railway]]. The line, known as the '''Kolar District Railway''' connecting [[Bowringpet]] (a station on the [[Madras and Southern Mahratta Railway]]) with [[Chikballapur]] (the terminus of the [[Chikballapur-Bangalore City Railway]]) The line was built by the [[Mysore State Railway]], from funds provided by the [[Kolar and Mysore District Board|Kolar District Board]].
