Burma, Mahamyaing Forest Tramway

The Burma Forest Department, Myittha Division, leased the Mahamyaing Forest concession of teak forest to the 'Bombay Burma Trading Corporation Ltd'. A 18mile(29km) Tramway of unknown gauge was in use by 1919-20. It was used to move 12,000 trees per year thaty were dragged from the stump by road tractors from a radius of up to 20 miles (32km) to a launching point on the Chindmin River. The line was still in use in 1939-40 [1].

No further information has been found.
