Founded Burn and Company was established in 1781 as a firm of architects and builders in [[Calcutta]] and engineers at [[Howrah and merged, 1976 ]] with Indian Standard Wagon Co Ltd(qv) to form Burn Standard Wagon Co Ltda foundry.
{{Work-The Howrah works became a major railway contactor from the very beginning of railways in-Progress-Rly}}India in the 1850’s.With the rapid expansion of Railways, Burn & Company started manufacturing Railway rolling stock at [[Howrah]] to cater to the increasing demand.
