He was repatriated back to England. He met Harriet Lake who was a nurse with the First Aid [[Nursing]] Yeomanry (FANYS) and in 1919 they were married. The Regiment was then stationed at Gosport in Hampshire. The regiment then sailed for Constantinople on 30th March 1920, then moved on in 1921 to Cyprus and in 1922 to Egypt.
On RSM Alfred J Oliver went out to India with the regiment on 9th March 1929 the Regiment went . He returned to India until England in November, 1934 when it returned to England.
In 1936 A J Oliver was made a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services in India.
