A number of pages are missing at the beginning of the book. The inscriptions commence digital file page 17 (book page 4). [http://dli.serc.iisc.ernet.in/handle/2015/325351 Pdf download]. Crofton, in the Introduction, mentions that the numbers killed by tigers and other animals of the jungle “is considerably larger than would appear from the lists”.
