The 'Ranjewan Charanpore Colliery' was near Sitarampur, 6km north-west of 7½ miles(12km) from [[Asansol]], being the western part of the [[Raniganj]] Coalfield. A line ran from the Colliery to the [[East Indian Railway]](EIR) at Sitarampur to Asansol Station, distance unknown. The It is thought that the line was a 2ft6in/610mm 762mm narrow gauge([[Rail_gauge#Narrow_Gauge|NG]]) line was first opened tramway. An advert ran regularly in 4Indian Engineering' in 1873 and 1887 for a colliery at Seebpore that was animal worked.
