The '''Dhond-Baramati Railway''' 2ft 6in/762mm narrow gauge([[Rail_gauge#Narrow_Gauge|NG]]) railway was under construction in 1913 and owned by [[Central Provinces Railway Co Ltd]](CPR).
 
The line opened 1914-15 and it added to the prosperity of the sugarcane industry in the region. It was worked by [[Great Indian Peninsula Railway]](GIPR)
