Surgeon to the Viceroy of India , and DDMS Ninth Army Corps in France. He was in India c 1897-1903, and 1908-1915. He established St. John’s Ambulance Association in India, which established/became the Red Cross. He was posted to France in 1915 where he was a doctor to fighting troops in battle.
