'''Lieutenant Colonel Sir Francis Edward Younghusband, KCSI, KCIE (1863 – 1942)''' was a British Army officer, explorer, and writer. He was born in [[Murree]] but educated in England and commissioned in the [[1st Dragoon Guards|1st King's Dragoon Guards]]. He explored Manchuria, crossed the Gobi Desert and pioneered a route from Kashgar to India. In 1889 he explored north of Ladakh in the Karakoram mountains. In 1895 he was the Times special correspondent in the [[Chitral Campaign]]. In 1903-1903 he led the British [[Tibet Expedition]]. He wrote several books on spiritual subjects.
